Project support with a defined finish.

Oxbury X offers focused business consultation and one-off project support for people with a question to settle or a piece of work to finish. A small Austin studio, working from the brief you actually have.

No public price is attached to these routes. The quote depends on the state and extent of the material, the work requested and the handoff agreed through inquiry. Choosing a route does not book or buy a service.

Scope first. Agreement before work.

01 / Choose the output

The handoff decides the route.

A request for judgement is not the same as a request for a revised file. Start there. You do not need to classify the work perfectly before writing; these distinctions help us see whether the next useful move is a conversation or a defined task.

01

Focused consultation

Consultation details

You have the material, but the decision still feels unsettled. A focused consultation puts an outside reading around a bounded question. The purpose is to make the next move explicit, rather than spend a conversation covering every part of the project.

Bring the current question and enough context to judge it. A short working draft can be more useful than a polished presentation that hides the uncertainty. Tell us where your own reading gets stuck.

The handoff is a written next useful step. It separates a recommendation supported by the supplied material from anything that still needs checking. Producing a new document or carrying out that recommendation is a separate piece of work unless included in the agreed scope.

02

One-off task

Task details

You can point to the piece that needs doing. One-off task help suits a requested change with an identifiable finish: a working document that needs a defined revision, for example, rather than an instruction to improve the whole project.

Supply the current version and describe the change that would make it usable. If there are competing versions, identify which one is authoritative. Otherwise time goes into reconciling the source instead of completing the requested task.

The handoff is the agreed piece of work, with its status made clear. A marked revision is different from a clean replacement file. Say which you need. Further versions or a change in purpose need their own scope discussion rather than an assumption that they are included.

03

Project support

Support details

A project can need outside help without needing a new owner. Small studio project support is for a limited area of live work that has become difficult to keep moving from inside the project.

Describe the current position, then identify the next point at which the work needs to be usable by someone else. That receiving person matters. A note for your own decision may not serve as an instruction for another contributor.

The scope names where the support stops and what is handed back. It does not imply responsibility for the whole programme or decisions that remain with you. If the work depends on material that has not arrived, that dependency belongs in the brief before a timing commitment is discussed.

02 / Scope review

A file count is not a brief.

A single page can contain an unresolved decision that affects the whole task. Several files can belong to one straightforward handoff. The amount of material matters, but its state matters too.

Use the scope instrument to distinguish notes from a working draft and a decision note from a marked revision. It combines the selections into a scope band, not a charge. The result is a starting description for the inquiry, subject to a reading of the actual request.

If your material is spread across versions, say so. A nearly ready draft should not be treated as settled when it still contains conflicting instructions. That is the sort of boundary worth finding early.

03 / From inquiry to handoff

Agree what finished means.

An inquiry starts a conversation. It is not acceptance of a quote, a reserved delivery slot or an instruction to begin.

The work moves on agreement, not assumptions.

For project consultation in Austin or a contained task, the first reply is about fit and the next useful step. A deadline cannot be confirmed from a route name alone. Include any timing constraint so it can be considered with the material and requested output.

01

Describe the request

Name the outcome you need and the material available. Add a reply route. You can begin without sending the underlying files; a description is enough to open the inquiry.

02

Review the working edge

The inquiry is reviewed before a scope is accepted. Anything missing or ambiguous belongs in that discussion, including whether you need judgement on the work or hands-on completion.

03

Confirm the scope and commercial basis

The requested handoff and the material to be used must be understood before work starts. Price and timing are matters for that agreement, not a figure inferred from the website or the scope instrument.

04

Return the agreed piece

The handoff identifies the next step and the status of the output. A review is not the same as approval by a third party. If a new request emerges, it is discussed as new work rather than folded silently into the original brief.

04 / Practical fit

You do not need a bigger engagement.

You do need a task that can be bounded. These are small-studio services, not a substitute for ownership of an entire programme or a guarantee that a business decision will work.

Common scope questions and the working position
An unfinished briefYou can inquire with rough notes. Tell us which part is uncertain. A consultation may make more sense than commissioning a revision before the purpose has been settled.
Only a small changeA small task does not need to be dressed up as a larger project. Describe the change plainly. The route is assessed against what must be handed back, not against the size of the presentation you send.
A deadline already setState the date and what depends on it. Sending an inquiry does not confirm availability or timing. Do not treat an unanswered request as an accepted instruction.
An uncertain routeChoose the closest route or explain the uncertainty in your message. There is no need to commission separate services simply because your request touches both a decision and a document.
Open-ended ownershipThis is not the route for handing over an entire programme with no defined output or stopping point. Limited project support needs a boundary that both sides can recognise.

05 / Next step

Bring the part that needs outside eyes.

You can keep the first message short. Say what you want to be able to do with the result, and what currently prevents it. The studio can then respond to the work itself rather than guess at the meaning of a service label.

Read about the studio's working method if you want more context. The terms explain the inquiry-only status and the limit of a deliverable commitment. There is no cart, checkout or payment on this site.
